Did you know the City of New Port Richey offers FREE mulch to all of West Pasco? After collecting yard debris from city residents, it’s chipped, piled, watered, and turned monthly to aid decomposition and processing of the organic matter. The resulting heat that is generated internally during this process eliminates any weed seeds that may remain in a final recycled mulch product. The final product is a beautiful, dark mulch of native organic material to feed your soil, reduce water consumption and reduce weeds.

The recycled mulch is available FREE to the public during daylight hours across the street from 6420 Pine Hill Road and is an excellent product for your fall gardening or landscaping needs.

Don’t have a truck or need a large amount? No problem!

The City of New Port Richey will deliver FREE mulch  to all of West Pasco citizens whether it be residential or commercial. the size of the mulch load varies from 1-14 yards. Delivery orders are available upon request and are completed when staffing is available.

Want to pick it up yourself? That’s ok too!

Bring your own shovel and you may take as much or as little as you need from the pile during daylight hours. The mulch piles are available for self serve pick up any time during daylight hours, 7 days a week. Monday through Friday, 7 am to 4 pm Public Works employees are available to load your truck with the loader free of charge.

Mulching beautifies yards and commercial landscaping, reduces water usage and the need for weeding.

Public Works Director Sherman Applegate also suggests sifting the mulch and using the finer material as an amendment in your potting soil mix.
